Hubs and I are planning a visit to gulf coast. I have been to Siesta Key, love the beach, and proximity to St Armand's circle as well as Sarasota.
We're looking for suggestions for hotels and activities. We like casual beach bars as well as fine dining, sightseeing/museums, shopping.
Thinking about St Pete's, Clearwater, or Siesta Key as our base....

I'm sorry, but what exactly is your question? You've been to Siesta Key and considering it again. What difference are you looking for?

Perhaps consider Lido Key? Beautiful beaches and many of the hotels are within walking distance of the circle.

I like Amma Maria the most of anywhere on the gulf coast.

Yes, I've been to Siesta Key. Perhaps I'd like to try St Pete's or Clearwater, or even another area of the Gulf Coast. I was just giving my travel history in that area. Hubs has never been to any of those. If someone would suggest something in those areas, I'd like to hear those also.

Second time to Anna Maria in a month - love it! Very laid back, no buildings over 37' tall, free trolley, Bridge Street, white soft sand and beautiful turquoise water.

Don't go to Anna Maria Island, it totally sucked....


Just kidding we loved it so much that I really hesitate to tell anyone about this place for fear of it becoming to crowded. It has become our new favorite place. Needless to say I highly recommend it.
