Birthday dinner in the Ontario California area

We will be celebrating ny husbands birthday on a friday night while on business in ontario, california We will have a rental car. Where is a good restaurant to eat for his birthday? Nothing too expensive or fancy and maybe a good American restaurant. Any suggestions? Thank you

What do you consider not too expensive? Could you give a $ range? How far are you willing to drive?

OK my first idea is out then I was going to suggest a bistro that does a nice 3 course on Fridays but it's $29pp.

There are quite a few restaurants in Claremont village which is a 15-20 minute drive http://www.thevillageclaremont.com/ I like Union on Yale and they should be within that budget http://www.uniononyale.com/

Owen's Bistro in Chino which is also 15-20 minutes away http://www.owensbistro.com/menu-weekend.html

Whatever you decide make sure to reserve for Friday night.

We have loved Espiau's in Claremont for decades. The world's best chile relleno and wonderful tostadas. Nice area to stroll after dinner.
Centro Basco in Chino is fun, they feature lamb and other Basque dishes.
Vince's Spaghetti House in Ontario is old school American Italian with really tasty sauce.

Is you're open to other cuisines, I really like Mes Amis in Chino Hills http://www.mesamisrestaurant.com/ We like to order the "journeys" and find one per person is plenty of food.
