GTNP - Snake River Float Trip
We are planning a trip to Yellowstone/GTNP this June and will be staying for 4 nights near GTNP. Two in Jackson and two at the Signal Mountain Lodge.
I am interested in the Snake River Float trip. Has anyone been? If so, there are two times offered 7am or 5pm - which is preferable?
Any advice appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks Howard - I was actually looking at the one through the Signal Mtn Lodge. I guess I need to check out some of the other outfitters.
Is there a recommended time - ie. better wildlife in the (am/pm); better photographs, etc.?
If not and there are many times then we'll just play it by ear and see what happens.
Thanks for the reply!

There are different advantages different times of the day. We took one at around 7 a.m., which was most interesting--foggy, mysterious and great! Heard and saw all sorts of wildlife.
We also took one mid-morning, which is good, as long as it's not too hot out.
For photography, probably mid-morning, mid-afternoon or, my favorite time, late afternoon (or as the summer season arrives early evening). I love the glow of the sunlight that time of day.
There are several companies that offer float trips. Do a google search (Grand Teton Float Trips) and you'll find them.

We are doing an evening float trip with GTLC mid-june. I had a hard time figuring out which concession to go with. You might also want to consider they leave from a couple of different areas. I think early and later times are better for viewing wildlife. I think mid-day might be iffy. I don't know if we we are doing the right thing, just have to wait and see.
