GTNP and YNP Ldoging

Hello, My wife and I are planing a 6 day trip of Yellowstone and Grand Teton this coming June. I hate to get tied down by booking a hotel (incase we love one of the parks and want to stay longer). Would I have any problems finding a room if I go in June?

You will have a problem trying to book now for this summer. The hotels in the parks fill up very quickly.

Staying in Jackson is definitely an option for visiting the Teton, though naturally, staying in the park is more desirable experience. It's about a 10-mile drive to the park entrance.

Here's another way to look at having reservations - if you are there and want to stay longer, you will more than likely be accommodated by the hotel. You can then call your next place and 'adjust' your dates. This is all easier than trying to find 'last-minute' accommodations. This is just my opinion but it works for me. I find it less stressful than wondering if I will find a place to stay and using valuable travel time to look. Enjoy your trip!
