For a true French experience, try Les Deux Gamins. Great location too.

Try Piadina - on West 10th Street between 5th Ave and 6th Ave. Small, rustic italian with candle lit tables, exposed brick walls and terrific food. The risotto is outstanding.

Hi Lisa,
I suggest the Gotham Bar & Grill. It's located in the Village on E12th St. between 5th Ave. and University Pl. It's one of the best restaurants in NY. You can even go for lunch and have the $20.01 special (appetizer, main course, dessert). I suggest that you also go to www.zagat.com and look under New York City and then Greenwich Village and you can read about restaurants, their prices, locations, etc. Have fun!

Danal on 10th between 3rd and 4th Avenues and Il Buco on Bond? Street off of the Bowery is another very good romantic restaurant.

Chez Michallet on Bedford Street is a great place. It is a relatively small French restaurant that has great, food and a dark, romatic feel.

Just discovered this little rustic French place, Le Gigot, on Cornelia St (across from Po, which also is really good).
