Family of 4 (10 boy and 13 girl) going to the big apple for Thanksgiving this year. Staying 2 nites near columbus circle, and will really have about 1 full day (wed). Pricelined to Hudson Hotel (yikes!).

We're going to Blue Man at 5 pm in the village. So we can do maybe 1-2 things beforehand. I was thinking a museum, or times square/Rock then the subway to the village about 2 or so to walk around before the show at 5. Ideas??

Is there any recommended places to go/walk with kids in the village? They'll definately like the funky, unique shops (Bleeker St best for this?). Theatre is at Aston Place near Washington Square.
Are there any cool places to take kids to eat in the village (after the show)?

They would love The Museum of Natural History (Upper West Side), which also has the Rose Science Center. Dinosaur exhibits, science demos, etc. They will have a blast. You can go to the museum early, and if the weather is nice, walk around Central Park before taking a taxi to Blue Man.

The museum and Central Park are some of NYC's real treasures!

Too many restaurants to choose from -- get a ZAGAT'S guide with listings by meighborhood since I don't know what kind of food you like.

Bleeker Street is a bit upscale these days, along most of its length. More funky would be along St. Marks Place in the East Village, not far from the theatre. The Lower East Side, which is the East Village south of Houston Street, also might be a bit "funky" to them...you could take a walk along Orchard Street, for example, and visit the Tenement Museum. These are within walking distance from the theatre as well. They also might like Chinatown.

I agree, I HOPE you got 2 rooms. Priceline only guarantees 1 bed for 2 people in NYC. The rooms at the Hudson are small.

Stop in Central Park before heading downtown. Then walk to Rockefeller Center and then, I would go to the Tenement Museum on the lower eastside (you need a reservation).
