Green Valley Ranch Resort Query

What experiences, if any, have Fodorites out there had at the Green Valley Ranch Hotel/Resort in Henderson, NV please? Is it too far off the strip that I won't be able to walk from in August? Is it
"quieter" than hotels on the strip? Is the area around it "quieter" than on the strip? Thanks in advance all.

Hi Amy~ my husband and I stayed there in August three yrs. ago.. and it is indeed too far from the strip.. I believe they have a shuttle that does run between Mandalay Bay and back though. We had a rental car and had been to Laughlin, so it was a nice ending to our time there..

We enjoyed our stay, very nice room and superb bathroom, lol.. the casino and hotel are connected, but separated by an elevator, almost two different buildings.

Also, I remember the variety of restaurants, and a cinema.. the pool area was nice, but it had lots of direct sun, no shade, unless you opt for a cabana. Good travels.

yes, it is too far to walk 8 to 10 miles .in august 110 degree heat ,you will need a car.
however if you want to relaxe and just to be low key, it is a great place to stay.there is a nice walking mall nearby called "district" and the casino has great pool.

I have no clue why the in-laws would put us up here and not in a hotel on the strip. Don't know if I should consider it an "upgrade" or a "downgrade". LOL

Thanks!
