We will be staying in a condo with our 2 grandsons, but are thinking of splurging for 1 night at the Grand Wailea so they can use the pools. Ages are 12 & 14. Enjoyable experience for this age? Are there long lines and waits for the slides, rope swing, etc? We are taking them out of school and going in late May, so thinking it might not be too crowded (..she said hopefully!)

I'm not positive but I think you can get a 'day pass' altho I'm not sure how much it would be compared to actually staying there. But might be easier than packing & unpacking...just a thought. Have fun!!!

i was there in july and went over to ask about a pool pass- i even had a cousin's wife's brother's name who is a manager there- and they no longer do the pass thing. couldn't even talk my way into it

I would absolutely do it. The pools are the best! Perfect for their ages. That time of year they might wait a couple minutes for the big slides, but the lines aren't a big problem. The slides are completely worth it, anyway. You won't believe the complex. They can have lunch right in the middle of things, too. Good burgers and salads, etc. There is also a one-of-a-kind water elevator that they will get a kick out of.

there is also an adult pool nearby. And the Wailea beach is terrific, too.

I really think its a terrific idea, have fun.

Of course, you should get there early the first day, and stay late after checkout, that way you get almost 2 days of use.
