Grand Hyatt vs JW Marriott

I am going to visit DC with my wife and kids (ages 9 and 11) next week. I have virtually identical reservations at these 2 downtown hotels, for the same cost. I have read pros and cons about each, but in some cases the comments are more than a few months old.

Can anyone help me decide between these hotels?

Any other last minute advice?

If you're doing the traditional Washington things, I like the JW location a little better. They are not that far apart, however.

Both are big convention hotels and rooms are fairly similar. JW is connected to a small but good food court and has a Corner Bakery on the same block and a McD's across the street if that's a concern.

Both have easy walks to finer dining options.

The Hyatt has a direct Metro connection but it's not that big of an edge over the JW, which is pretty convenient as well. The GH is a little closer to the Chinatown/Penn Quarter dining.

Haven't checked this year but there's usually a little skating rink at Pershing Park which is kitty-corner to the JW.

Can't speak to the indoor pools, but for my lad that might have been the tie-breaker . . .
