Grand Canyon weather in October

Hi,
I'm trying to get a bit of information for my sister who is planning a trip that will include two nights at the Grand Canyon.
As of now, they are planning the trip for mid-October but I'm wondering what the weather will be like then and if they should push it more toward late September.
They are not planning to hike at all.
Thanks.

To get weather averages for any month, for any place in the U.S.

1) go to www.Weather.com
2) type out the name or ZIP code of the place of interest in the box at the top.
3) click on the [Search] Button.
4) click on the /Monthly\ Tab.
5) click on the [Averages] link at the bottom of the calendar.

The average high in October at Grand Canyon National Park is 56; low, 32.

Mid-October is perfect, too early for snow but by mid-Oct the lower desert areas (Phoenix etc) are typically finally out of the 100's for day time highs.

Late Sept is OK as well at the GC (mild temperatures up high) but typically pretty hot at the lower elevations.

I would personally go mid-Oct, fewer tourists and better average weather.
