Grand Canyon Tours

Visiting LV in May and can't decide whether to book a Tour of the Canyon (flight, heli landing on the floor, BBQ) with my tour operator Virgin or if I'll pick up a bargain once I'm there.
Can anyone also recommend any non gambling tourist places to visits and what are the best show in town?

Thanks
Nicky

Hi,
Good (non-gambling)places to visit while in Vegas: The Valley of Fire, Hoover Dam/Lake Mead, Red Rock Canyon. All within an hour of Vegas and well worth the trip.
The drive to the Grand Canyon is about 5 hrs...I would recommend either taking 2 days or taking a plane/helicopter tour.

I agree with Linda. GC deserves a visit of at least 2 days. You will never forget your visit. I was there in October and am still in awe.

We are also going to Vegas in May. We booked a Canyon Tour through Adventure Photo Tours (www.adventurephototours.com or 702-889-8687). They have a 4 for 1 tour for $195 that takes you by Ford Explorer to the bottom of the canyon, the west rim, hoover dam and joshua tree forest. Tour includes lunch, snacks & beverages. They pick you up at your hotel. It is about a 12 hour tour.
