Grand Canyon - North Rim
Any ideas where to stay on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon the middle of May. The Lodge there is full but will keep trying. Any suggestions? We have a reservation at Marble Canyon.

there may be a couple of places just outside the park (about 45 min from the north rim area) there are only a few. Jacob Lake Lodge(?) maybe you can keep on trying and see if there are any cancellations. good luck

The Lodge is it on the North Rim. The Jacob Lake Inn is outside the park, but an easy drive in.

That's about it. I agree with the suggestion to "keep calling".

We didn't spend the night there either but we had several hours there to hike and and take pictures as the sun set over the canyon. We headed north to Utah and spent the night up there. On the way we pulled over along the road in an open area were we saw the breathtaking view of the stars! It must have been along Highway 67. I can't say enough about Utah's National Parks: Bryce, Zion and Arches. They are fantastic!

Hi watsondog,
We stayed at the Kaibab Lodge in July 2005. I think it's closer to the park than Jacob Lake.

Marble canyon is 83 miles but the roads are slow driving so plan on 2 1/2 to 3 hours to drive from the North Rim to Marble Canyon. If we knew more about your itinerary, we might be able to make more suggestions.
