Grand Canyon Lodging

Will be in Sedona Sept 24 through Sept 30. Want to spend one night at the Grand Canyon. Bright Angel Lodge is booked. Any suggestions on where to stay? Thanks.

Have you tried El Tovar, Kachina, Maswik, Vavapai, or Thunderbird?

If all these in-park lodges are full there are many hotels just outside the park.

Call the reservation office instead of checking online. When I booked my trip last year, the online system said that everything was booked, but there were rooms still available when I called. If money is not an option, stay at El Tovar. If you want to cut cost, but still be on the rim than stay at El Tovar or Kachina. If they are all booked, then call everyday to check for cancellations. Have fun. Here is the reservation info:

Phone: Toll-free within the U.S. (888.297.2757) or
Outside the U.S. (303.297.2757)
Reservation hours of operation: Open, 7:00 am - 6:00 pm, Mountain Time, 7 days a week.

This website has lodging info for the S. Rim, including hotels in Tusayan.

We sayed in the cabins right at the top of the Bright Angel Trail. Great location and not expensive, but booked far ahead. It would be worth calling the park in case they've had cancellations.

Keep calling for reservations!!! I booked peak season during summer and when I first started there was nothing and as time passed, different days would open up. We stayed in Bright Angel cabins and could not imagine a more perfect GC experience. We LOVED it. It was not luxurious but it was so "classic". We were not at all impressed with El Tovar and were sooooo glad we did not stay there.

Totally agree with last replys for location and rustic experience. We got late reservation after cancellations.
