Grand Canyon in March-April
Typically, I hate posts that ask what the weather's going to be at a destination, but I have no idea and can't find a good answer on the internet.
We are in the planning stages of a trip to be taken March 27 - April 3. One of the finalists for the destination is the Grand Canyon. I know the north rim is closed at this time. Will it be too cold to enjoy the south rim at this time?
Also FYI..the other finalists are a cruise consisting of a Miami, Key West, Cozumel..iten.
or
Destin.
Thanks

We were there about a week earlier than that. We drove there from Las Vegas and hit a snow storm. When we arrived, the visibility was not good, but quickly cleared up and the snow stopped (left about 6" on the ground at the canyon). The views were magnificant but we couldn't even attempt a trail going into the canyon without special hiker spikes on our shoes because it was slippery. We only spent a night there, and did enjoy the views from the various scenic stops along the rim.

was there 2 times at that time and weather and drive was fine..a litle snow on the side of roads..but the weather can vary and be cold..expect it..if you are into warm,do the cruise...if you don't mind iffy try the Canyon..do get reservations now for the GC...feels up fast..also it is warm at the bottom if that is your quest..a lot warmer...

We were in Sedona and at the Grand Canyon for the better part of a week last April. We are from New York, and we really enjoyed the weather in Sedona...sweaters at night, but hiking during the day in jeans and tee shirts. While we were at the Grand Canyon, it was pretty cold, especially at night I'd still say do it! It was awesome in the truest sense of the word.
