Oh okay, duh, now I get what you were saying! ...just a couple of sandwiches short of a picnic some days. ;-)

No, it's probably just vacation brain! Mine's already starting to turn mushy and I don't leave for a whole week.

Sorry, I opened this can of worms, guess I'm defensive as I too check weather to the point of obsession in advance of every trip; in hopes of pairing down the tendancy to pack for every conceivable nuance. I would like to express thanks to the many posters
who share such good info and apoligize for TAKING SPACE FOR DRIVEL!Darn there went my spunk. Rgds, LO

Sorry for being snappy - but I watched my car's gauge all day today. There has been a 5 to 9 degree temperature change "at home" today. I just can't think of any place I've ever visited that DIDN'T have a daily 5 to 9 degree. I can't think of a place I've visited where a 5 to 9 degree temperature difference would dramatically affect my packing needs.

Again, sorry for being snappy - but I guess I'm missing something in the OP's request.

I happen to agree with starsville on this one - the temperature can change 5 degrees while you are waiting for the "WALK/DON'T WALK" sign to change so you can cross the street. What possible difference could a 9 degree difference in predictions make at this time of year? The only time that type of fluxuation should concern anybody is if it were raining in winter and a temperature drop would mean the difference between wet or icy pavement.

As others already pointed out, the weather will be what the weather and the on-line weather forecastes are meant only to be general predictions and not taken as gospel fact. If weather forecasting is expected to be an exact science than all those meteorologists would have to look for other employment because being 100% accurate is impossible.

I was curious, so I checked www.weather.com (my original suggestion to this post).

The prediction for tomorrow for "home" ranges from 47 to 74 degrees.

The prediction for tomorrow for "Santa Fe" ranges from 45 to 72 degrees.

Interesting! Exactly a 27 degree range for both locations

As Lee Ann suggestion - "layer". I just toss on a sweater.

AnnMarie, Madrid (pronounced MAD-rid) is an old coal mining town on the Turquoise Trail between Albuquerque and Santa Fe.

After the coal company closed the mine, the town was abandoned for a few years. The whole thing went up for sale in the late '60s/early '70s, and a bunch of hippie/artist types moved in. It has some fun shops and is worth a stop if you go that way.

Lee Ann, do you know the family owned silver/gift store in downtown Alb? I was there for Thanksgiving a few years ago - and as much as I enjoy buying from the vendors at Governor' Palace, my host family kept telling me to wait until we got back "home". The only time I had to shop was a quick your before my flight left - but I did buy all my Christmas presents there in that hour.

Hi Lee Ann, and thank you for the info. We do plan to follow the Turquoise Trail from Albuquerque to Santa Fe this time.

I'm sorry, Starrsville, that doesn't sound familiar. Is it right downtown, or in Old Town?

May not be the place you are talking about, but Gertrude Zachary has a new really large showroom in Nob Hill on Central.

I guess downtown. It's not in a predominantly touristy area.
