Good New Orleans Jazz Club, help!
Ok, so I'm going to New Orleans this weekend and I would appreciate it if somebody could recommend a good jazz club in the French Quarter. Hopefully somewhere that's lively and has a good bartender. I like my drinks!

Lets see... IN the Quarter... okay, theres Donna's on Rampart, but be careful after dark on Rampart St.
"Famous Door" on Bourbon st.
"Funky Pirate" on Bourbon but its more Blues I think than Jazz
"Maison Bourbon", also on Bourbon probably has the best reputation of all the ones I've listed.
"Palm Court" on Decatur St is very nice.
"Preservation Hall" on St. Peter is famous so crowds are the norm, but dont expect anything fancy, and by fancy I mean seats and air conditioning! Its is extremely popular despite its appearance.
"Snug Harbor" is more contemporary jazz and its just beyond the Quarter in Marigny on Frenchmen street.

I forget the name of the club, but Banu Gibson has her own club now, in the Quarter, featuring her own New Orleans Hot Jazz band. Great musicians, great entertainment. She and her band travel a lot, to festivals. You should be able to check whether she's in town. Good luck!
