I just happened to take a quiet moment at my desk and found your good wishes Indie (which I will pass on to my son)!

Yesterday I went down to the Javits Center with my son where he picked up his number and chip - the excitement was overwhelming and sooooo many people from all over the world!

My son's college friends also came down by bus last night so that they can cheer him on - I thought that we really sweet of all of them to give of their time for a friend They just left the house, after consuming large quantities of food, heading into the city to scope out a couple of spots along the route where we will give our support.

As the mother of a runner who has trained very hard, I am a complete nervous wreck but very excited and proud. We all are proud ~ it takes a lot of self-motivation to run 26.2 miles

Good luck to everyone participating in the running of the 35th New York City Maration! Reach for your goal, you can do it!

My DS completed his first NYC Marathon! It was especially exciting because of the fact that only about 500 runners out of the 37,000 were in the 21 year old or under category.

He crossed the finish line with a time of 4:35 and felt amazingly good

I can't even begin to describe what a mind-blowing, exhilarating experience this was for our family - getting around the city was almost as challenging to the spectators as it was for the runners LOL! There was such a spirit of camaraderie that was very special and made the day an enjoyable one.

So which Marathon will he run in next? Perhaps the...
Chicago Marathon
or the
Edinburgh Marathon
or the
Marathona de Portugal
or the
Great Wall Marathon in China!

What a great way to travel and see the world
