Going to San Francisco tomorrow - need advice

We're going from Los Banos to San Francisco tomorrow morning. We're doing the whole tourist thing in a day: trolley ride, Fisherman's Warf, & Chinatown. Where would you recommend that we drive to...should we drive and park or drive and catch public transportation. We appreciate any help. We have a 10AM Chinatown walking tour. Thank you!

If you need to get to Chinatown by 10 from Los Banos, you need to consider "speed" not money when figuring out how to get to your destination.

Park in the Portsmouth Square Garage in Chinatown.

You ar egoing to have to get up VERY early in the morning to make it from Los Banos to SF by 10:00 a.m. Remember that you will hit the Bay Area during peak commuter traffic; you might do better to stop at San Jose and pick up the train to San Francisco instead of attempting the drive. You could then take a taxi to Chinatown from the train station.

Oops! I hit "post" too quickly. I meant to continue with the fact that the weather is likely to be rainy tomorrow during rush hour and that could mean a really slow commute. Enjoy "The City."

Thank you for the advice. I couldn't find the earlier post. We left Los Banos at 5AM and were parked in the Portsmouth garage by 7:30am and had time for a nice breakfast before the tour. It was a wet but fantastic day. Thank you for all of your help.

ajcolorado, how nice to hear that all went well. Getting up to SF early in the morning was smart. Happy New Year!
