Going to Phoenix this weekend
Hi!
I am heading to Phoenix this weekend.
I have a few questions?
1. Is it worth my time to go to the State Fair?
2. Is there anywhere to get deals on silver jewerly?
3. Is Phoenix Park and Swap a good place to shop for deals?

It's a state fair - do you go to the one in your state? If you do, then you might enjoy it. If you don't go to the one in your state, I wouldn't go UNLESS there is a performer you want to see.
I don't know anywhere to get a good deal on jewerly.
Lots of stuff for sale at Park and Swap. If yo like flea markets, you will probably like it. There are also a couple of other ones in town - one with a Mexican flavor near the state capitol.

1)I don't really go to the State Fair because I feel that for the most part it attracts a more unsavory crowd. No offense to anyone. But, if you feel comfortable with all walks of life, and a sign when you enter that says "no weapons permitted", then come on down! I used to like it, as a kid, just for the rides and greasy food. Unfortunately, now I can't help but be more aware of my surroundings.
2) If you have time, you might drive down to Nogales, Mexico. It is about 2 or 2 1/2 hours from Phoenix, below Tucson right on the border. They will have lots of jewelry at bargain prices - can't vouch for the quality but lots to choose from anyway.
3) I have never been to the park and swap, but I might go at some point. I picture it to be a lot like the State Fair, but instead of go on rides, you buy things. Might be an interesting experience...
I don't know what kind of things you enjoy, but I would recommend taking an afternoon to walk around "Old Town Scottsdale". It is a touristy area with lots of cute shops and restaurants. And it's in a good area. Have a great time this weekend!
