going to NYC today!!!

I have 2 hours to spare between Penn station and 46th between 2nd and 3rd, and will be walking. Any suggestions as to what there is to stop at, look at, etc?

Just visiting there a couple of months ago, I think you are pretty close to the Park and 5th Avenue shopping areas.... that might be worth strolling along for such a short time...

You can head east on 33rd or 34th Street (on 34th you'll pass Macy's Herald Square), then head north on Fifth, or Park, or Lexington. You'll see plenty of shops and what-not on the way whichever street you choose. Sounds like you're heading to the UN area. You'll turn right on 46th (heading east) to get there. A very easy walk, if the weather's cooperative. Rain makes it less pleasant.

Soho is in the opposite direction-- basically south of Greenwich Village.

Bliss is in SoHo but they do sell Bliss products at Sephora. There's a Sephora on Broadway between 43rd and 44th right by Times Square.

From your postings, I assume this is either your first trip of one of very few trips to New York. With that in mind, here are some suggestions:
*Take in Times Square.
*Go to the top of the Empire State Building (a few blocks out of your way, but close enough).
*Tour Grand Central Terminal.
*Walk up Fifth Avenue, taking in the stores, Rockefeller Center and St. Patrick's Church.
You can easily do any of the three in the allotted time and still make it over to your destination in two two hours.

Howard's absolutely right. Don't know what your interests are or what you'll be carrying but here's what I'd do.

Exit Penn Station on the 7th ave side (there are also exits on 8th ave. that's the wrong way) Walk 2 blocks east on 34th st. to 5th ave. You're at the Empire State Building (actually the building starts at 6th ave) Want to go in & take a ride to the top? It may be crowded. This could eat up all your time.

Otherwise, turn left on 5th ave walking uptown. At 38th st you'll see Lord & Taylor dept store. Continue north on 5th ave to 42nd st where you'll see the NY Public Library. From here you can either continue up 5th ave to 49th st to see Rockefeller Center & then head to your appt. OR from the library head east on 42nd where you'll pass Grand Central Station. Go into the Station & walk through to Lexington Ave. From there it's a block east to 3rd.
