lil'mak,
Sounds like an uptight CUB fan to me!
She gonna make us sit on different sides of the forum?

:-? Maybe her throng is riding up a bit?

"HEY LADY!!! CAN WE HAVE OUR BALL BACK?"

makai, I looked at your pictures with more time last night.

MORE THANKS as my friends and student workers enjoyed them tremendously as well. I wish I would have taken a picture of the 70 plus story One North Wacker Building with the windows being opened etc. now. They had corner windows as well- and the people were piled into them like into telephone booth pictures all the way up.

What a beautiful day in Chicago today too- more like September than November.

aschie30, they're just funnin' ya. We don't talk bad lots of da time.

JJ, glad you & your buds enjoyed the pics... fun fun time. Just don't have your speaker turned up too high when you pull the site up!

Non-uptight, laid-back Cubs fan here - but saluting Sox for fine playing.

Kal, if you're coming back to Chicago next summer, why don't you get tix for a x-town classic game at Wrigley, when all the happy N-siders and S-siders visit each other in the Friendly Confines. Being an out-of-town visitor, you can be an unbiased, calming influence on those unruly fans from both sides.

Just make sure you wear your blue cap with the red "C" on it when you go.

Both cross-town classic tickets are hard to come by actually. But if anyone travels to Chicago for these and can shell out the bucks- the spirit is unique. May is a better time to come to Chicago than July is, IMHO. Try May 19-20-21 when U.S. Cellular hosts the Cubs.

And next year remember everyone (especially neworleanslady and chinacat) come to U.S. Cellular any time we are home, and see that beautiful pennant flying out there. I or somebody in my family will probably be there in the Upper Deck- so let me know and I'll try to say hi.

Schedules came out today and now I can start to make some long term other city travel plans as well.

And when that W.S.site came up, my heart did an extra beat (REALLY) when I see the wallpaper is now WORLD CHAMPIONS.

I've always wanted to go to the cross town classic. I'm one of those laid back Sox fans that actually cheer for the Cubs a few years back and always thought it would be a lot of fun. One of these times I'll get tickets and go.

Vittrad, both of my sons go every year to one of each series.

Two years ago I went with youngest to Wrigley and we won. It took us (with a car, mind you) almost exactly 3 hours to get home afterwards. I could have gone to Michigan! There is just no easy way any day, with or without traffic- public transportation or no- from where we live. The people connecting with Metra took 3-1/2 hours.

I am just like you, as I am not anti unless we are playing them- but to tell you the truth, I have gone several times only because I like to be the "tempering" influence. Youngest son tends to have a big mouth.

If you buy some 9 game ticket packages right now or soon, you will be able to get one ticket or a cross town game, play-off game (if occurs) and also NYY, Cleveland, or MN end series too- if that's what you'd like. 9 game packages are not too much $$$ and you can always sell the games you don't use- EASILY.

Schedule looks GOOD, as it is posted now. I want to get to Toronto or Anaheim this coming year- if I can. And definitely another Detroit at Comerica. But things will be different now for tickets away as well, I'm not just going to walk up to windows at the last minute any more. At home either, except maybe on Monday and Tuesday nights. I hope they don't quit the 1/2 price Mondays or Dollar Dog Thursdays!

See you all at the GTG! AH, now we go on to the Bears. Party/dinner at 2pm pre-game tomorrow. We are addicted.

KAL, there is an AIR-CONDITIONED bar in the Cell now, I think. Skyboxes are as well- but most are corporate. You can take one for a game for about $2000 with dinner for 6 or 8- great view!

Kal, after enough cold brews, you don't even notice the Chicago heat/humidity anymore. No worries!

Who? Meee?

Sounds very good!!!!

The past couple of times we've been back in Chicago, the company I work for local office has had a BBQ below the RF bleachers and then we staggger up, I mean travel up to our bleacher seats. Good time.

Right now we're saving vacation days and money for a 4 week tour of Italy for a BIG family reunion (and maybe a Paris Fodor's GTG?) in Sept/Oct but with SoWest opening up non-stops between Sacto and Midway and if we can get another $180/pp/rt fare, we just may be there!

Makai1....Mrs Kal was laffin' her okeole off yesterday. Check you mail in about 2-3 weeks! :-"

Come on back if the SW airfares run a special. You never know- I got to K.City for a game once for $29 a leg. LOL!

Yes, I miss it too, makai1. Many of us here have discussed the withdrawal syndrome. I'm traveling to MI next weekend to make some monstrous bonfires.

There's always the Bears now, and they are getting interesting (although the sliding in the mud yesterday was not tops by any means).

Ozzie addressed the IL sen/reps in Springfield and he gave the trophy to a disabled woman among them for pictures. They said he stole the show and even made the jaded blink a few times.

I still keep the WORLD SERIES schedule on the front of my refrigerator just to remain myself that it wasn't all a dream.
