Glacier NP driving time?
Can anyone estimate for me the driving time from Lake McDonald Lodge to Many Glacier boat dock, assuming no stops along the Going to the Sun Highway? I am trying to plan a hike start time. Thanks!

Aside from the fact that the GTS will be closed beginning September 15th? We took the jammer car trip, and I would guess that it was three hours from Lake McDonald to Many Glacier. It is a lo-o-o-ng way from St. Mary's (east end of the GTS) to Many Glacier.

Thanks! This is next week, so the road will be open, and it will be a daytime drive. We are based for a week at lake McDonald.
We're planning on doing both Iceberg Lake and Grinnell Glacier hikes, on successive days. I realized there is no way we could do the drive and get there in time for the 8:30 boat (for Grinnell Glacier), so we are planning on driving over, doing the Iceberg Lake hike with a noon start, and then spending the night on that side of the park (camping) so we can meet that 8:30 boat the following day.
How long is the drive from St. Mary to Many Glacier? I'm assuming there are no construction delays on that part?
