"Girlie" question for any Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill Triangle Dwellers

I am writing with a silly, girlie question. I am coming to the area next week for a full week of conferences at Duke/UNC CH. My flight is arriving very early (9:00) Sunday morning, and I have the whole day to kill before the conferences keep me busy dawn-dusk.

I was hoping to find a nice place to get a manicure & pedicure in the area. Can anyone recommend a nice place that might still have reservations available with only a week's notice?

Thanks for answering my silly question... I swear its an academic conference!

I should have mentioned in the original post that I have looked online, but several places seem to be closed on Sundays, which is my one free day.

Has anyone tried "Tanas"? Any other suggestions?

Thanks again for any help you can offer...

katya_NY, Tana's is a very nice place. I've had my hair and brows done there! My best friend has pedicures there ...

katya_NY, be sure to eat at Allen & Sons BBQ in Chapel Hill if you like pork BBQ. Absolutely the best ... Rachel Ray ate there on one of her "$40 A Day" shows, and her crew said that normally she just eats a couple of bites for the camera (to keep her weight down) but at Allen & Sons .... well, she cleaned the plate!

Hi Bonnie! Thanks for the recommendation- I will pass it along to the other conference attendees, as I am a vegetarian!

Thanks for the thought though!!

katya - I see nothing silly or "girly" about your request. If you want it, you want it. I write to suggest you post exactly what you want in the title of your post: manicure/pedicure There just might be people in the area who skipped over your question. Enjoy your trip!

hi kgh8m: Strangely enough, that is the salon that I would up making an appt. with for Sunday- I wasn't able to get through to Tana's, so Mina's it is!

Has anyone ever been there?

P.S. Hi rb! I know I shouldn't be ashamed of asking about a spa, but it seems so frivolous to me... I am looking forward to a bit of pampering!!

Just a follow-up: I did go to Mina's, and I had a wonderful manicure & pedicure there!
