Thank you all!
I've looked at menus and have some lunch/dinner reservations in place. We have 4 nights on what promises to be one of the busiest possible weekends and I feel good to have some food plans in place.
I believe we'll skip the National Zoo and commit that time with some of the other opportunities. Figuring out timing for things is really hard before we're actually there and understanding what the crowds/transportation looks like. If it's simple to grab an uber for a quick commute to something, then that may open some things up more for us due to available time slots for things.

But advice to anyone planning a trip like this one, plan ahead! Many things are "free" but require a timed entry reservation. Capitol and White House tours go through one of your congress people and require up to 3 months. And many tickets for things aren't available until 1 month prior to a date, so set lots of reminders for yourself and believe that when Washington Monument tickets go on sale at 10am each day, they go fast.
