We're still well over 3.00 per gal. here in Reno. The downside of lower gas prices and lower oil prices...at least according to a story on CNN, is a lot of companies that were going to develope other sources of energy are now putting their plans on hold. Oil has to be up over 100.00 per gal to make these projects viable.
So, we're glad to have lower gas prices, but does that mean we go back to putting our heads in the sand again?

An article in our local newspaper website this morning, big news, unleaded gas at one station is $2.99! This in the very southern part of the Sacramento Valley, CA.
It is still so expensive for those that that have to commute to get to their job.

I've seen $2.29 here in the Metro Richmond (VA) area, for Regular Unleaded. But, that's being offset by $2.91 per gallon for Premium Unleaded... That's one of the biggest spreads I've ever seen between the two grades of gas. It wasn't all that long ago that there was only 20 cents difference.
I guess they figure if you're rich enough to drive a car that needs Premium, you can subsidize those that don't. Talk about price gouging....
