That is really high for Utah, Dayle. It has always been about 20 cents per gallon cheaper than San Diego and we are at 3.55 in SD too.

Here in Pasadena,Ca area, its around $3.40-ish. I remember all spring and summer, getting gas 2-3 times during the week because prices were rising so fast. So, a lot of folks would put in gas although the tank was still relatively full due to not knowing how high the price would jump by the next time they rolled by the gas station.

Now, it's don't get gas every few days because the prices keep dropping so fast and it's best to hold off in hope that by the time one does need to really fill up, the price will have significantly fallen. So, back to filling up once a week. Happy Travels!

Bought gas last night for $3.09 outside of Boston. Saw another station further down the street for $3.07! We're heading to Nantucket this weekend where gas was hovering around $5.00 over the summer. I'm curious to see what it is there....

If you are coming through SC on your way to Charlotte, Rich, you may do better. BUT a week ago we were paying $4.09/gallon IF you could find a station that had any gas. LINES, fights, and all. At $3.49 we feel pretty good. I think it's on the way down everywhere, just like the stock market.

Gretchen, I'm with you. I'm just happy that we even have gas here in Charlotte, so I'll gladly take $3.49. Never realized how much we take it for granted until we don't have it...that was horrible. Hopefully the price will keep dropping.

$3.24 in my neighborhood in Louisville, KY. The state government is investigating why this city has been so much higher than most of the rest of the state for the past several months. During the summer, we attended a family reunion about 80 miles away; and gas was 40 cents a gallon cheaper that ours.

I expect we will all get reimbursed for the extra charge, don't you?

An hour east of CLT the gas prices aren't so bad. CLT & west into the Mts., is a different story.

Dutch,
Where do you live? You might have to get yourself to one of our mini-GTGs. UT Fodorites are few and far between!

Since I originally posted this two days ago, gas has dropped another ten cents here. Somehow my elation over this is tempered by the fact that my kids' college fund has taken such a beating in the market lately...

I was in Hendersonville, near Asheville NC, yesterday do some hiking and gas had dropped to $3.19. Hopefully Charlotte will see some of those falling prices soon.

Northeast Florida is still around 3.31 - 3.39 a gallon. Under $3 sounds good.
