Admirer of JSS, Chase was teacher to an amazing array of artists (Hopper, Bellows, O'Keefe and Marin among them!). The exhibition includes work by those artists when they were students of Chase.

Word had it that as First Lady of The College, she thought very highly of herself expected to have a table held at The Trellis especially for her. The introduction to James at the dinner party where there was "instant chemistry" occurred when she was still married to Paul. Despite the tawdry gossip about the two, someone has excellent taste in art. The collection is amazing and gorgeous. When it's complete, it will be a must see for any art lover interested in that time period.
