Ft. Lauderdale, Marriott Harbor Beach Spa/Resort
Has anyone ever been and can anyone provide any feedback on this resort in Ft. Lauderdale? Things to do, be aware of, tips for a good stay? Does anyone know anything about the spa? A couple heading in June and looking for feedback. Any must sees in the Ft. Lauderdale area? Thanks!!

I've stayed at this property twice in the last 4 months. This is a large resort property that's located directly on the beach about 1 mile north of the harbor entrance. Both stays, we had ocean front rooms which are great - balconies overlooking the beach and ocean. The rooms are big and we were able to get a refrigerator for our room as well as the minibar. Restaurant is pricey for breakfast, but Cascades restaurant on the beach is cheap and we ate there. We didn't use the spa. Pool is great - cabanas on the beach are expensive - I think 50 a day! We didn't use the spa.

I've been to the Spa a few times (but have not stayed at the hotel) The Spa is very nice. While you wait for your treatments you can use the spa pool-a great perk. It is away from the main pool, no kids, very relaxing. The treatments were very good, not amazing but very good. We usually get there early, lounge by the pool, have a treatment or two, return to our lounges, have lunch from the spa cafe. The staff is very accomodating. Take a taxi to Las Olas Blvd. for dinner-Saturday nights are great for music. And enjoy the beach!

Hi - I live in Fort Lauderdale and used FODORS for my upcoming trip to Italy. I am so appreciative of the suggestions that I got that I would like to provide feedback to you for your stay at the Marriott Harbor Beach. I love spas and have been to every spa in Fort Lauderdale. This is BY FAR the best one. Why? They have a private pool for spa guests only (the hotel pool is CROWDED and full of noisy kids and a PA system with loud music and hard to find a lounge chair in season). The private spa pool has relaxing spa music playing under the water. They set your lounge chair up with a terry cover and towel pillow and wait on you if you would like lunch or drinks (They recently stopped serving alcoholic drinks in the spa - I think because they wanted to deter rowdy guests but you can still get a glass of wine from the main bar and bring it in). They have lemon/cucumber water and various juices, teas, etc. and fresh fruit in various spots and out by the pool, full work out facilities with bottles of water at each cardiovascular machine and fresh towels. They have lounge chairs IN the locker room around the hot tub, steam room, sauna, with a table of wash clothes soaked in ice and cucumbers near by if you would like to relax with cuc's on your eyes! They have everything you need to get ready, hair dryers, combs, brushes, disposable toothbrushes, shaving cream, mouthwash, hair products, spa lotions. And it is CLEAN, CLEAN CLEAN! The massage treatments are great, the manicure/pedicures are pricey but you get a little spoiled. From the moment you walk in they treat you extra -specially. I have not stayed at the hotel as I live here but I have to say it's too large and crowded for my liking. But let me tell you there are fancy spas in this town and none are as nice as Marriott Harbor Beach Spa. Have a great time!

Also, the best place to eat on the beach is Spazzio or Trina (very short cab ride away from MarriottHB). Also, I have heard that one of the best NEW restaurants is the one AT the Marriott Harbor Beach Resort (I think it's "3030" or something like that) but my husband and I have not tried it yet. Enjoy!
