Ft Lauderdale hotel

Hello. I am going on a cruise and the port is in Ft Lauderale. Does anyone recommend a hotel to stay at? I want to be somewhat close to the port but would love to stay on the beach? Thanks!

There are several hotels that come to mind and at least 5 are "on the beach" or across the street from it. As above, how much does cost matter?

Doesn't your cruise line offer special rates at several hotels?

Even if your cruise line does offer special rates I would compare them with ones you might get directly from any property or through a booking engine such as booking.com

Of course that's always true, Dukey. But cruise lines may also offer free shuttle from their "select" hotels, and sometimes, particularly in season, their rates can be great.
