From Peaks of Otter, VA to Blowing Rock, NC
According to the maps,it seems that Peaks of Otter is approximately 210 miles from Blowing Rock traveling down the Blueridge Parkway. Is this going to be too far to travel in a day's time during peak foilage season in October? Is there a lot that we are going to want too see along there besides the usual scenery and vistas?

The speed limit along the entire Parkway never exceeds 45 miles per hour. Some stretches have posted limits that are even lower. (A word to the wise....those low speed limits are there for a reason, definitely pay attention them and slow down when you see them.)
Although 210 miles will take a while to travel at 45 miles an hour (with lots of stops along the way), it is a gorgeous route that everyone should see at least once in their lifetime.
There are tons of special things to see and do all along the way. If you type "Blue Ridge Parkway" into your search engine, you'll find all sorts of web sites with suggestions on what to see and do.
Also, you can stop at any ranger station along the way and pick up a free handout that will have a map of the entire route and suggestions of what to see at various mile markers.
Enjoy!
