Friday Fun: who would you like to meet?

With so many GTG posts on this website, I think it may be fun to discuss which Fodorite you'd like to meet and why.

Anybody else is fascinated with our mysterious ***poster*** for example?

Or ever wonder who is Faina, LOL

Stand-by for bruised feelings. Whoever anyone picks, there will be others who have interacted on the board that will be disappointed it was not them picked.

There are a whole bunch I'd like to meet, & a celebrated few whom I'd like to punch...I don't think I can really narrow it down too much though.

Okay, this Dolly fish will bite, and I was going to offer you future Alaska visitors an update of what's happening anyway....
1. For the fisherman-- the leader in the Homer Halibut Derby has caught a 296 lbr.-- I wish I had the fillets in my freezer, lol.

2. A wooded area and eight tent sites near the Russian River ferry were closed to public access Wed. after two brown bear cubs took up residence there.
Adjacent fishing areas alongside the Kenai River will remain open.
Last summer, I saw three cubs and their mom playing in the river, on a return trip from Anchorage.

3. A Soldotna man caught an eight foot salmon shark in Cook Inlet on a halibut charter last week. For forty minutes, the fish struggled to stay 215 feet under the water, where it swallowed the halibut hook and bait.

Lastly, to actually answer the question Faina posed, I would like to meet many of you, mostly because I think there's some interesting Fodorites with stories to tell and travels to share, and most important, People Who Love Wine, lol.

And... I have a mental picture of some, based on screen names, and I want to see if the person matches my image(only good stuff, just so you know).
There, I did it. J.

Easy ...
I'd love to meet Degas!!

The sight of him trying to spear a boar in his backyard might do wonders for my tired, sore eyes!

I would pick people who have resonded to my requests for information and who always seem to help others too. There have been many over the years! Also, those posters who are always entertaining and charming... and those who seem like old friends.

I will be meeting at least 2 Fodorites in Chicago. Sorry Melissa will be there on different days.

Give me some time to think if I should feel sorry Kal will be there on a different date

Dwooddon, no bad feeling, this is not a (very) serious thread.

And I can't meet Jetset - I'm not a good listener

LOL Faina

Yes, Bunch...haven't seen him/her in a while.

There are quite a few people that I would love to meet. Have met only one, Scarlett, and we are both still alive, so no axe murderers here, lol!

Faina~ honestly, in person, I'm very shy. A combination of hormones and alcohol can get me from 0-warp speed in minutes however!
The only thing that would give me away would be the I. V. with a wine bottle turned upside down. That's why I drive an SUV, so I can get it into the grocery store, silly....

JAGIRL~ hush.. that white van with the big antenna is parked outside again.... Why does the white jacket have such long arms? Anyone worth their salted rim knows you can't type wearing one of those.
