I had fried mini snickers with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce one time at this gourmet restaurant and it was divine!

The correct answer is Indianapolis but technically I suppose Oklahoma City is also correct so I guess there are TWO capital cities which do so.

FainaAgain gets my first monthly Best Thread award to the OP with an original Friday anti-work thread.

But it can't get too organized because then it will become useful. Well I guess it already is because it was useful in making me laugh. VERY USEFUL.

Totally useless in general but interesting to some:

There is a deepsea angler fish which mystified biologists for many years. The fish is about 46mm long and has all kinds of spikes and bulges on its body. They could never identify any male fish, the fish they caught or studied were always all female.

Finally someone figured out that one of the protuberances on the body and tail were males about 6.2mm long. They at some early stage become parasites to the female. She is 8 times larger than he is and she could have 2 or 3 handy for egg fertilizing. The male's mouth disolves and they even lose their own blood supply- fusing right into the female's.

And you thought you were always doing the majority of the housework.

I got the opportunity to fly over the beautiful Chesapeake Bay Saturday morning courtesy of the MD state police helicopter due to an unfortunate event with a riding lawnmower. A somewhat useless part of my pinky finger was disposed of at Union Memorial in Baltimore and a lesson has been learned.

Sorry to hear of your pinky GeorgeW.
Curious though...what was the lesson learned?

Or will that info be so useful that we'll have to be kept in suspense until Faina posts her upcoming Friday Fun: useful info thread?

Lesson learned- when one of your belt rotors is inert on your riding lawnmower, don't do a fool thing like use your hand to prod your rotor to start spinning. It might start spinning again at a moments' notice.

JAGIRL, your info on all of those National Sweets Days is indeed useFUL information, as I now plan to celebrate all of those important dates accordingly. Hence that info is uselsess on an useless info thread....if that makes any sense.

I like most all sweets but not sticky buns. That name "sticky buns" conjurs up images of me sitting in maple syrup and not being able to get up.

>>> 4 out of every 3 people have problems with fractions<<<

Reminds me of a former co-worker's favorite joke -

He and his wife were considering having another child (they had 3 kids) but reconsidered when he heard that 1 out of every 4 babies in the world was Chinese. They decided they prefer not to have a Chinese baby.

Inside joke - he was a middle school math teacher. He loved the play on meaning

good one, starrsy!!

Your story reminded me of a useless fact. My great-grandmother was the first white baby born in Guthrie, OK, which was then the capital city. At that time Oklahoma was still called Indian Territory, as it was reserved for Native Americans only. Which makes me wonder how or why my white ancestors were living there.... :-?

Well P_M, Scarlett did ask.
How could I do her the grave disservice of not alerting her to the many days devoted to celebrating chocolate!
