French Laundry is closed for renovations!

Through 'mid-april 2004' - what is another favorite for a 50th birthday dinner in the Napa/Sonoma area? Seafood, Italian, lighter cuisine preferred - not into heavy steaks, etc. BUT - desserts are a must!

Happy Birthday!Funny-I'm having the same dilemma about my birthday in that area! My choices:
Bouchon (fish)
Terra (Ca Cuisine)
Tra Vigne (italian & romantic)
Meritage(fish)
Glenn Ellen Inn (Ca Cuisine)
The Girl & the Fig-the one in Petaluma
(French, not heavy,fish)
Zazu (Excellent and creative!)
Syrah (same!)
Rivers End (Spectacular Ocean views and CA cuisine)
The Farmhouse Inn (Ca Cuisine)
Latitude (New, getting rave reviews)
Did I help or further confuse?
Let me know!

we'll be staying in Sonoma (flying from the midwest for the birthday boy) - which of these would be closer to Sonoma?

Meritage and the Glen Ellen Inn-I will post more ideas if I get any-you might re-title your post "Ideas for B'Day
Feast in Sonoma" for more replies.

Might want to check on chowhound.com for suggestions, as well.
