Spent a great night at the Applewood Inn in Freeport. The place was beautiful, the rooms were amazing, the owners super nice. My husband and I shared a room and my 2 teens shared a room. Highly recommend it. We loved Freeport, thought it was clean and cute and unlike most outlet towns got some good bargains on North Face, Abercrombie and Hartman. Thanks!

It sure doesn't sound like Freeport, Bahamas.

I'm pretty sure she's talking about Freeport, Maine.

My vote is for Freeport, Maine which is, indeed, a cute little New England town that has lots of outlets. I suspect the OP thought the post would appear only in a "Maine" folder.

I looked it up and, sure enough, here's a link to the Freeport, Maine, Applewood Inn: http://www.applewoodusa.com/

Freeport, Maine is indeed a charming little town, but how come they made the MacDonald's so hard to spot by requiring it to blend in with the local architecture? LOL

There are historical restoration zoning laws that businesses, including McDonald's have to comply with. In Miami's South Beach they have the art deco and neon, and in Lahaina, Maui, they are of the whaling era. Does anyone know of other places in the US that has them?

On the wall right here next to my desk, I have a photo that I took in England of a McDonald's all done up in faux Tudor half-timbering.
