What the heck does "Post WANT some gears..." mean? If it's free I might want it if I knew what it was.

Can anyone translate?

OK. Freecycle is like America's Garage sale...only free.

What does this have to do with travel?

Sorry you perceived me as "an rude person". I was mainly confused.

Unfortunately Ziana perceives anyone who doesn't understand her always bizarrely cryptic - and often strangely pointless -messages as "an rude person".

I agree the post and title are very unclear. Based off the title, I thought it was asking people to post free attractions or free things to do in your area. I don't usually buy gear before I travel unless travel size toiletries count.

TIME-OUT!!!!!

Any chance Ziana has english as a second language? people? From what I've read this could either be a troll, or a fine caring fodorite mearly trying to help others, who has a language handicap.....possible? I admit I never read the Euro board stuff, just a quick search......

I think Ziana has described herself elsewhere as "ESL" - however she also needs to cut us a bit of slack; it's often difficult for us to understand what it is she's getting at.

The problem (troll or not) is that Ziana's posts are frequently very confusing/unclear. And when anyone asks - even very politely - for clarification she becomes abusive. And then generally adds more confusing posts.

Obviously if someone is ESL they deserve a little slack - but first, she really does need to try harder to explain what she means (no one is really commenting on spelling or grammar - just that they don;t get her point) and second - she really needs to develop better manners (not actually related to language skills).

I checked out freecycle and it is a good idea for some people. It can be for travel, if you want to buy used travel gear.
Thanks, Ziana.
FYI, it is also bad manners to talk about someone in a deragatory way, "in front" of them or "behind their back" .

gyppielou, Kate, thanks, I believed you will come.
nytraveler, you should STOP reading my posts if those upset you. Never thought of it, ha? I bet...

And how is "What the heck " is polite way of asking to clarify? And ME is abusive? After "What the heck " may be...

You people are snobs and you well know I am ESL...

I am posting for those who can THINK and know to click on link if post unclear.

For those who undersdtand me I meant you can post stuf you WANT and someone might have it as a lot of people do not travel excesively, they go once and then stuff just stays in a basement...so you might find some great slightely used travel gears...Thanks for your attention.

Ziana's posts are fun -- like a puzzle.
I thought at first "WANT some gears" meant to post on the website that you wanted a bicycle -- you know, gears!
But I guess now she means travel gear -- luggage, wheels for luggage, travel alarm clocks, etc. So the basic idea was and I'll paraphrase "Are you traveling soon? If so, then post on the website 'I'm looking for travel gear'. Then if you're lucky, you just might get it free. Therefore it is a useful site.

Now could someone explain to me what ESL means?

I didn't have a senior moment - I just didn't know what it meant. Actually thought it was some kind of an illness. So I will do a double "duh".
