Maybe someone will prove me wrong, but I didn't think "free" and "Ft. Lauderdale" go together.

Whoa. What's your problem Grisslehamn, other than an obvious lack of a sense of humor? There was nothing about my post that was not "nice", but it was meant as a tongue-in-cheek way of saying that there isn't much in Ft. Lauderdale that's free. Many revitalized cities now offer free parking -- not Ft. Lauderdale -- that's just one example.

If you'd bother to read any of my thousands of helpful posts, you'll notice I AM nice, except when people start being rude. But I don't call making a simple remark like the one above -- NOT being nice! Now, care to explain why you were NOT NICE to me?

There is a bus, actually its more like a shuttle bus, that runs constantly between the Riverwalk area of Las Olas, and FLL beach, specifically the Beach Place area. I believe it is free.I see them all the time-they are very brightly colored. My father, who lives there, believes they are free. They definetly run all evening-I'm not sure about the daytime.

I found the link to the shuttle bus site, and yes, it is free. It runs weekdays and on weekends until 2 am.Makes many stops on Las Olas between downtown and the beach.

The link is: www.co.broward.fl.us/bct/express.htm

You can click on the daytime or weekend schedule under DFLTMA
