Rant: Our beloved cat fell off the roof this week, 3 stories down, onto the rocky bed of an almost dry stream. Our hearts stopped beating as we ran down to recover his body.

Rave: He's ok. No broken bones, no internal injuries, just a bashed, split lip. How do they do that?

Rant: That little escapade cost $275 and one of his nine lives for sure.

Rave: Bought a pair of killer boots for my upcoming high school reunion.

Keep it up, Bonnie, Welcome back, Scarlett, and Meetshare, we could help you out with that garden surplus problem. How about a personal veggie delivery?

Rave: The fall weather in Maine is wonderful. Zero humidity, high's in the 60's, lows in the 40's, aaahhhh.

Rant: My vacation in Maine is ending tomorrow morning. Have to drive 1600 miles home to Florida.

Rant: The rest of the U.S. thinks that Florida is a sitting duck with the eye of a hurricane constantly aimed in our direction.

Rave: I hope that this will discourage the rest of the U.S. with regards to moving to our fair state!

Oh my gosh, Marilyn, I'm so sorry to read about your cat but glad he's okay. Those kitties don't always spend their 9 wisely, do they? At least mine hasn't....

Hi bonniebroad, looks as though mms beat me to the punch (thank you, mms!)--next time? SL is my other favorite--that and CL are the only food mags I subscribe to. Enjoy!

Thank you anyway, dcespedes!! And, mms, I found you on the other thread! Again, thanks so much for the recipes!

Thank you , all you guys, for your support with the weight-loss and exercise plan. It's going very well even though I managed to stress that knee (much better - am back walking 1 - 1/2 miles four times a week now), and pulled my back (improved but not quite right yet.) Every bit of encouragement means a lot!

Marilyn, so sorry for your kitty!! Poor little thing.......... Give him a good love for me! Our neighbor's cat was caught in the automatic garage door (the top of it), and no one knew it. I heard whimpering when I came out to take a walk! Fireman came, I didn't think the he would live......... but his recovery was amazing. I think cats really do get nine lives!!!!!!!

Marilyn, give Kitty a hug for me too. A gentle one.
Sounds like everybody would like some tomatoes. Come on up to Toronto - I'll be standing on the front lawn! We've got yellow ones and red ones. I just picked a few more on my way into the house when I came home from work.

Romeo thanks you all for your concern and for the hugs, which he cannot ever have enough of. Fortunately, he is a big boy and very huggable.

Wasn't it last week that someone's cat jumped up and knocked over a heavy vase? Mischievous little kitties! Glad to hear your cat survived, Mariyln. I only have a lonely little fish and he pretty much just stays out of trouble O

Marilyn~
Please add my hugs and kisses for the kitty recovery
I imagine how awful you must have felt followed by how great it was that he was alive!!
I wonder if this will curb his pleasure in heights

Scarlett, we have removed the roof access so this will not be an issue in the future. Thanks!

razzledazzle, we had a Sebastian cat for 18 years... He was Pups best friend.

mclaurie, Thank you dear No real estate but we did go to an open house that made my heart flutter ... probably gave the poor Yankees heart some palpitations too..it was a wee bit costly but what a house!! (picture : winding road, English country type cottage, fireplaces in bedroom and living room, perched on the edge of a ravine..sigh)

AAwwww....Nice memories,yes?...give Pup a hug! I wish they would live forever...
My "Sabby" is 10 and quite the baby,
though he still can drive his sisters
(and us)batty.
(Do you remeber the Midnight "chasing of the banshees")

So, glad you enjoyed Portland- the real estate out in the coastal pacific gives MY heart a flutter-must
be why Mr.R5 has moved up from muttering to
nearly full sentences about moving to Asheville NC-I'll have to start an inquiry thread if this keeps up!

A great cat story is by the French writer, Colete, called the cat. A newly wed is jealous of her new husband's cat and throws him from the balcony(it's unhurt)Marriage ends!!!
Tho Marilyn never cares about my comments
