Ryan, my friend, ( I have a feeling you are indicating me). No personal attacks on you. It's always fun to have a civil debate when opinions differ. I always end up the goat because nobody here has the same opinions as me. But, I like it that way.

Happy New Year;-)

Happy New Year.

Rant-Just got back from Florida.

Rave- The family is together again.

Rant- No early warning system for tsunami's in some parts of the world.

My family joins me in wishing the Fodor's family a safe a prosperous New Year. We pray for those in the world who are suffering and continue to pray that those in leadership roles will guide us wisely and carefully.

God Bless.

Ahnold,
Actually Ahnold, I wasn't thinking of you - unless of course you use another id that begins with an M.

2004 has been an interesting year with some very nice highs (the Red Sox and Patriots) but this is so outweighed by the lows (Breslan school terrorism, Tsunami, Madrid terrorism, the war, the hurricanes). Human suffering beyond comprehension.

I thank God that my family has been mostly healthy though I pray for my mother in law who seems to be losing her battle with cancer.

2005 will bring the birth of two new nieces or nephews (numbers 15 and 16!!!).

I pray for our soldiers in harms way and am grateful daily for their sacrifice.

Rave: Fodors- one of the last places that you can see candid thought and people who are willing to take a chance in sounding stupid.

Rave: ahhnold, you would make a great Devil's Advocate in the Vatican.

Rave: Another day of sunshine and warmth. And even though I lost some lights to rabbit chew, I guess they are hungry too. Do you know that they make the insulation/wiring out of soybean and the rabbits love it!

No rants, as all is trivial compared to what is happening on the other side of the world.

One wish: That my brother gets home this year and that it will be in one piece. And that, in the meantime, my telephone ear doesn't wear out from my mother's crying and moaning. It's getting pretty tired already.

Rave: All my oldest friends are coming tonight and we are all still walking around, and DAMN it we all look pretty good too. To paraphrase Steinam, "this is what 60 looks like now."

Biggest Rant: devastation caused by the tsunami. Keep the orphaned children in your prayers.

Big Rant: military families who are separated from loved ones.

Rant: seems trivial in the scheme of things, but I have a bad sore throat.

Rave: we are truly blessed with a wonderful family, jobs we enjoy, comfortable home, and great travel memories.

Wishing everyone in Fodorville a healthy and prosporous 2005! Happy trails to you!

Happy New Year to you all!

Rant: The tsunamis and aftermath. It is all so horrible. My heart goes out to all who have suffered and continue to suffer from their losses.

Rave (?).. not sure what to call it... I have spent two out of the last four years on Phuket Island Thailand at this holiday time, and I'm glad I'm not there this year...so my family is safe and sound at home!

Rave: The generosity of people around the world in the face of such devastation. Bless them all!

Rant - Suffering of the victims of tsunami especially the children

Rave - Extended family came from different parts of the country and returned home safely

Rave - Still have a job at the nursing home where I work but things still very unsettled.

Rave - It is sunny and may reach 60 to 65 here in the Midwest. A bit different to the extreme cold we had this time last week.

Many thanks for all the kind and patient people on this board who over and over give information even if the question has been asked previously. Your the best.

Sandy

Rave: Happy New Year!! Santa was very nice to me this year. My favorite present is the pink Del Sol Shoreliner Deluxe Beach Cruiser! (I learned that DS actually drove to Yuba City to pick it up for me!)

Rave: 4 Feet of new snow up in the mountains! Lots of good boarding the next few days!!

Rave: DD is in SF celebrating New Year's Eve with her youth group!! Lucky!!

Rave: Our six peacocks are gorgeous, their colors are so vivid right now!

Rave: My parents got us a gift certificate to Ducey's on the Lake and a stay in a spa-suite at the Pines Resort! Can't wait!

Rave: They also got us a gift certificate to my favorite restaurant, Campagnia here in town. I call it the Bluehour of the Central Valley!

Rave: Japanese dinner tonight, then to see Aviator with Leonardo DiCapprio. It's a long movie, so it will get us close to midnight!

Rave: I get to bring in the New Year kissing my wonderful husband of twenty three years! Mmmmm!

Rant: Too much cheesecake and goodies, no time for the gym, I need to go get on that bike now!! Happy New Year and Happy Travels to all! ***kim***

Rave: I am SO glad this year is over!!! Because

Rant: Overall, it has been a brutal year, both personally and globally.

Don't get me wrong, I have many blessings to count as the year comes to a close. But comparing apples to apples, this wasn't among the best years I've seen!

Let's hope for better things to come in 2005. Happy New Year, everyone!

Rave: My health, Mr. GoTravel, my wonderful family.

Rave; Going camping with Mr. GoTravel tomorrow for the night.

Rave: I'm happy and healthy. Life doesn't get better. Travel I can buy, health and happiness I cannot.

Rant: The Tsunami death count keeps rising.

Rant: the tsunami and its victims, the destruction and disease it will cause (an estimated 50 to 100 thousand more deaths due to disease).

Rave: Our government has pledged millions in aid. 35 million I think?

Rant: not nearly enough aid money considering we spend about 27 million every day in Iraq. The small country of Spain is pledging more relief money than we are.
