uhoh__busted -- you have a lot of Tarheels who post here who will welcome you. Just ask if you need info about this part of the world (e.g., me and see Bonniebroad's post above). Where are you starting from? When will you probably make the move (know from other posts you are retiring -- this is a great place to do that, assuming you aren't too far from family and/or you aren't too used to metropolitan life).

Rave: Glad to read everyone's good news. Sure glad that there is still some out there and that Rusty and baby Jesus have been returned to their rightful owners. I feel so bad for raining on the parade...

Rant: Our village and school community suffered an unexpected loss of a vibrant life. Our village is so incredible sad and stunned. This beautiful, unselfish girl gave the ultimate gift of life to four other people through organ donations - a topic that came up with her mother in a passing conversation shortly before her death. She was and will always be special.

Dan, a giant congratulations are in order =D>

GoTravel, wishing you a happy anniversary and many, many more

And a special thanks to all for the warm wishes for Rusty dog. So here's the scoop- The woman turned down the reward. It turns out she has a female dog just like SIL's, and now we're thinking perhaps she took the dog to mate them. She was outta luck though, because Rusty has no allbays

It was really funny because BIL was walking the dog yesterday and a guy rushed him on his bike and said "Is that dog yours?"

Anyhoo, we are all happy that Rusty is home again, he's such a good dog (they all are!)

Jor, I will send SIL a letter per your suggestion, you're right.

Here is Rusty's webpage from when he was missing, along with my goddaughter:

http://hometown.aol.com/rustydogsreturn/

SIL even got emails from Canada

Also condolences to those that lost loved ones... there is nothing like a Grandmother's love.

And congratulations to OO for becoming a Grandma, one of the great joys in life. Again, there's nothing like a Grandma's love

Rave: the absolutely clear crisp weather in the SF Bay area today.

Rant: nurses went on one day strike Wednesday and were locked out for five days. Even those nurses who were scheduled off on strike day have been locked out. I'm locked out until Monday.

Rave: Finally read this great thread! I usually just jump into my Hawaii, Nevada and California threads but I had a little extra time and took a look at the main listing and found such a great community. You are all like a big hug after the stress of the work week.

Thanks!

OO, how wonderful! You're going to be a granny - the best job you'll ever have! I am soooooooo happy for you! And I'm delighted that all is well with your daughter. (OO, thanks for the support! It's going very well....... I just have to survive the holidays! )

Jasper, I'm glad for you that you had a loving grandmother for so many years. I know that she will always be in your heart.

Byrd, I am in the same place as you are with our doggie. He is 15, totally deaf, shaky, problems with his vision....... but with those spurts of energy that says *I'm not going anywhere quite yet!* We also plan not to get another puppy until we have gotten a lot of travel out of our system. Can we stick to that plan??? I don't know. (We don't fly anywhere now, because we won't leave him; we are taking driving vacations at the moment. Some of our family consider us NUTS! )

Statia, our little guy thinks he's a lion --- it doesn't matter how big the other dog is! Hope Bailey mends really quickly.

Uhoh_busted, do come to live in the Triangle. I'm betting you will love it......... it's a beautiful area. Let us know what we can help you with!

cigalechant-It was a statue of Jesus hanging on the cross outside of our Church in Worthington, Ohio. At first they thought it was kids, but on closer examination it had to be someone who knew what they were doing as he was bolted/screwed/hung pretty good. It would have taken someone who knew power tools to get him down. They just put him up there and he was imported from Italy. Very beautiful and pretty pricey. Glad he is back. I hadn't heard about the floating baby Jesus. Where was that?

So here's my new rant-The sickos who try to ruin Christmas and the Holidays for everyone else....

Outside Boston, he was stolen, a reward offered made the news and scared whoever it was. A telephone tip came in with details where in th water it was and the harbor master and diver found it floating face up, calling it a miracle. Actually I don't think it was because someone said it was made of plastic but it did not seem so.

Rant: $170.00 to fix a 2 yr. old snow blower. I think these folks are rip-offs and I'll never use them again.
Rave: Just ordered a new watch for XMAS.
