mms- we had (my son had) a newt. It's name was Fig and it outlived all newts. I cleaned his tank one night and the next day he was dead..I felt such guilt!! I had to tell my son. His answer-can I have a dog? hee hee- be prepared!
Pup loves Florida - there are sooo many gekkos to chase.

Rave: Got the Hyatt Grand Cayman for $120/night for next February via Priceline(cheapest price on hyatt.com was $415/night!)

rave: my mother-in-law is leaving for NYC in the morning for a business trip.

rant: her trip is only for one week. \/

rave: maybe she will go to the international terminal for the return flight.

Rave: It's a small world. I found out today that rrkwan and I went to the same small university in Houston (although he graduated alot later than me!) And Statia's half sister lived in my old neighborhood there. And my old neighborhood burger joint still exists there. Looking forward to going back there in August and seeing Roger Rocket pitch.

mrwunrfl: no surprise we were born on the same day of the year. we are very much alike on the travel stuff. mantras that I repeat to myself alot: "let it be", and "enough already, emd". Let go, and have a WONDERFUL trip. I am waiting for the report already.

Rant: Reading about everyone's hard times really got me down. It occurs to me that it becomes increasingly difficult to have a "glass half full" attitude in this world. So much heartache everyday. I can't watch the news anymore, and all those reality shows just make me even more upset. Especially those makeover shows (not the home one, that's kind of heartwarming)but those plastic surgery ones irritate the bejesus out of me. What a great message for kids today, don't bother with having a positive self image, if you don't like something just hack it off or suck it out. Anyway, enough.

Rave: Hubby is off on a fishing junket today, and although I will miss him, I'm looking forward to renting a movie that he wouldn't want to watch (but would begrudgingly because he loves me), sip some wine, cuddle with my dogs and have some quality ME time!!

Jasper, I agree on the commute. Mine is an hour and 10 on a good day from Brooklyn to Manhattan! There's been times it's taken me 2 hours to get home. There are people who come in from NJ and CT and get into the office faster than I do!

Another Rave: My neice asked for a for her birthday and my SIL is getting her one. Hope the kitten gets along with my cat since they will be neighbors.

emd: remember that no matter what, you are always in control of how a situation goes. The fact that you handled it says more about you then the person who questioned you.
