Rant/Rave: It's Friday and I'm here
Rant: Still haven't heard from job interview from 2 weeks ago. I didn't think I was the best candidate, but would you let me know? Please
Rave: Applied for more jobs and one is an excellent match to my skills. Mini-rant: would involve moving, but I could remain 'nc'grrl.
Rant/Rave: weather: Sunny and 70 earlier this week, down into the teens tonight and rain starting Sunday.
Rave: the daffodils are starting to bloom.
Rave: Spending time with friends over the weekend.

Anonymous, I think lcuy's daughter is a senior, has already applied to a bunch of schools and is just waiting to hear. So lcuy's right, it's silly for her to go now to look at schools she may not get into. And, from solid experience, let me say that it's really important that her daughter visit the schools during their "prospective freshman weekends" because it's only then that the reality of what it will be like can come "home" to her. For one thing, she'll be surrounded by other kids who may actually be classmates or even dorm-mates. Stand your ground, lcuy!! (Probably the last time you'll really be able to, too ;-) )
Raves: Sun coming up earlier, birds getting energized, planning Italy trip, no more workmen tramping through the house to fix up a bathroom, no more waiting for workmen who don't show up to fix up the bathroom.
Rant: Mother in hospital for pneumonia <-> Rave: she's doing fine.
Rant: I actually watching the Amazing Race's most obnoxious couple "explain" to Dr. Phil that they're really nice people. ARRRRRRGHHHHHH!

Rave: Duke lost again!!!!!
Go Hokies!!
Jor, you are 100% correct about Iran.
Rant: A poll released last week showed that only 40% of those polled knew the lost lives in Iraq were in the 1400-1500 range. Some even thought it wass below 200. No wonder he got reelected.

Happy Friday!
Rave: Drove my "new" Volvo to work today! Anybody who calls me soccer-mom gets run over!
Rave/Rant: DH left for Germany last night for work. He'll be back on Tuesday (our anniversary) but I'm missing him 'til then.
Rave: Headding into NYC tomorrow to check out The Gates for myself and hit a Museum & lunch with a friend. Mini-Rant- it's going to be in the 30's and windy. Brrr...
Rave: Re-committed to fitness this week by challenging good friend to 6 month contest to "find our 18 year old abs". Mine hurt already. I've got some work to do!
Rave: Early anticipation for the NJ/NY GTG on May 21st!
Can't wait!
Happy Friday Everyone! Trish

Rant: The same as kcapuani...both Erie County and the City of Buffalo are heading down the road to financial disaster. Buffalo has a control board, and the county legislature had to have mediators come in and help.
But kcapuani, although I'm sorry about the parks, there is no way I want to pay another penny in taxes.
Rave: Monday is a paid holiday!
Rant: The class punk gave my son a hard time yesterday and as a result, the punk got suspended!
Rave: Son's school took immediate action with said punk.

My first rant/rave, so be gentle with me:
Rant: Rain, rain rain. Ruins plans to run off to Santa Barbara with my visiting parents, who lived there 50-plus years ago. Slows down our house construction. We've had enough!
Rave: Angels baseball players have reported for duty!

RAVE: It's friday. I needed Friday so badly this week!
RAVE: Cool weather, but not too cold.
RAVE: Baby boy took his first steps this week! (Thanks to all of you who wished him happy birthday last week. That really was so kind.)
RAVE: Our best friends are in NYC this weekend...we helped them plan their trip. We know they are having a fabulous time.
RANT: We couldn't go with them!
RANT/RAVE: One of my support group members had a recurrence of her ovarian cancer this week -- BUT the surgery yesterday went much, much better than anticipated. Many more years were added to her prognosis.
RAVE: My DH is grand. He treated me like a queen all week.
Happy Friday everyone!

Rave--Had a great snowshoeing trip last weekend! Got lots of snow while we were out so lots of fun playing in it. We especially appreciated it since our snowpack is extremely low this year.

Rave: Spring training about to start.
Rant: The NY tabloids and their insatiable desire to take the fun out of the start of the baseball season with their need to create controversy.
Rant: The Founding Father's must have felt pretty strongly about a free press if they put it at the top of the list. Despite the importance of that instution that so many are willing to justify outright manipulation of one of our basic rights as Americans is troubling. I guess when it comes to the issues of right and wrong, both sides are more willing to look at things as a question of "right and left."
