Rave--Veteran's Day.

Rant--The whole banning thing.

Rave--Our sons football team has had a great season. They won their playoff game last week, and tomorrow they will play in the final Championship game! This rave is not because they are so great, but because the boys are determined inspite of coaches that need to take some serious timeouts.

Cannot see the grass for the leaves.

Dead rodent smell has not entirely disappeared.

No travel plans for the near future unless I count the hideous drive to NJ from MA starting midday on the day before Thanksgiving Aaaaaahhhhh!

Good luck PM! Good luck STW and Cassandra! Congrats GoTravel - I'm in awe! And good luck house-hunting Ethel!

Rave: Veteran's Day.

Rant: Banning posters.

Rant/Rave: A weekend by myself with my 20 month old daughter. Husband, the primary caregiver, is out of town and honestly, the thought of three days on our own is a little intimidating. quot;>

I can almost hear her thinking, "That's not how Daddy does it!" But it's also fun to spend the time with just her!

Have a good weekend!

gotravel, How can you run that far? I'm tired just thinking about it. I once participated in a marathon in Bavaria. I handed out water to the runners! But I did run in a 10K relay once. I practiced for two weeks so I wouldn't make a total fool of myself.

another Rave: My Dad. I gave him a coffee mug and a baseball cap with a WWII Veteran logo on them.

another Rant: Pat Robertson has done it again. He loosely threatening a town in Pennsylvania with a natural disaster because they didn't want "intelligent Design" to be part of their school's curriculum. In the past he threatened a hurricane on a Florida city because they voted not to discriminate against gay people. As if that isn't dumb enough Jerry Falwell blamed Katrina's death and destruction on people in New Orleans. I believe these influential men are sick and hateful.

seetheworld, I will keep all of my fingers crossed for you until your test results are in. I'm finding it very hard to type with all of my fingers crossed, and I will surely look like a fool with 10 crossed fingers at my interview today, but I'll do it for you.

GoT, congrats!! =D>

ethel, I'm glad things are finally going your way.

Eeva, I hope that smell goes away soon. amp;

Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for all of your good wishes and your support throughout this time of uncertainty. Of course, the second interview doesn't guarantee anything, but it's a big boost to my confidence that I am a finalist. If I do get this job it will mean a pay cut, but I don't know how much. The good news is that there is an affiliation with my current employer so I can keep all of my benefits, including my 4 weeks vacation time/year!! Also the job sounds like something I will enjoy. And after 5 months of this horrible job-hunting process, I'm ready for it to end so I can have my peace of mind back.

Hugs to all of you for lifting my spirits. ><

Wishing all my Fodor pals a happy and safe weekend.

Rant/Rave: We have accepted an offer on our condo in Brooklyn. We're making good money off this place, but I will miss it terribly! No more view of the bridge, no more watching the ships go by...

Rant/Rave: We decided to stay in NY & rent (YAY!) but don't have a clue where we are going to live.

Rant/Rave: BIG two week trip to Australia New Zealand coming up Dec 2nd. I'm excited but what bad timing! When we come back we'll have to find a place to live, and move within 2 weeks.

Rant: Too late on the no rant thing.
Opened my SF Chronicle this morning to see a disgusting quote from Bill O'Reilly. Here it is: "You want to be your own country? Go right ahead. And if al Qaeda comes in here and blows you up, we're not going to do anything about it. We're going to say, look, every other place in America is off limits to you, except San Francisco. You want to blow up Coit Tower? Go ahead."

What a pig! He said this on election day. This is travel related big time. One of OUR countries treasured tourist attractions is now far game to terrorists according to a popular talk show host! Not to mention he thinks it's ok for fellow Americans to be attacked by terroists. What is this country coming to? Isn't his quote pretty close to encouraging terrorism?

Rave: Golf at Bandon Dunes - actually Bandon Trails course - earlier this week on the "nicest day of the year" (per the caddy).

pamsf -- lol! I got that email too!
viamar -- amazing that Bill O'Reilly has his own daily show, isn't it. Our very own modern day McCarthy, with no shame at all.
