Rave: My DH fixed the brakes on our '67 P1800 and we're taking it out cruisin this weekend too!

rant, slugs hand squirrels have ravished my little garden.

Rave: On vaca in K-port, Maine.
Rant: It's raining for the second day in a row, and the third day this week!

Ani, hate that for your mom.

I've never ever gone without insurance for those exact reasons. I know it is too late now but you can buy an interum insurance policy that only provides Major Medical.

The last time I purchased one it was $99 for 90 days and could be renewed up to 5 times. Deductable was around $2500.

Another Rave: My husband just called and told me to take Monday off because he's taking us all to the island of Saba for the day! Three day weekend PLUS a day trip with the family....woo hoo!

Rant: Ani, sometimes I'm right where you are! Ready to buy a ticket, pack my bag, and get the h-e-double hockey sticks out of this crazy country! But, every country has it's foibles, I guess. So sorry about your mom. I've always felt that it's easier to go through hard times myself than watch someone I love go through them.

Rave: It's the weekend! A weekend full of fun bbq's and family!!

Rave: Home projects are over for the moment & the bank account is beginning to go in the right direction for once! Probably won't last long, but I'll enjoy it while it is!

rave: Going to Boston to celebrate my 40th birthday!!! It is a week late but Hubby & I could not get off work together until now.

Rant: My cat needed eye surgery this week, and it cost me $800!

Rave: He is recovering nicely and will be back to his old self soon!

emd - I am from DC too - I have some friends going to that concert tonight too. I am going to Battle of the Big Bands at the Barton Amphitheatre tonight, instead (that's a Rave!).

Rant: sam, so sorry to hear about the missed trip with your son, I can relate. Mom and I were supposed to go to New York in May, but in April during her trip to Italy, she developed a very bad blood clot in her leg. She was kept in an Italian hospital for a month, not able to fly home. You can imagine what this was like, she does not speak a word of Italian.

Rave: She is home safely and on the mend (blood tests weekly now). Good Luck to you and your son!

Rant: The wedding is only 4 weeks away and there is so much to do! Also, I have to start teaching summer school on Monday.
