I am surprised no one mentioned Key West. Great restaurants and nightlife. Stay in Old Town at one of the b&b's.

Definitely New Orleans is awesome!!! and I absolutely loved Key West.
But the Bahamas was my most favorite. the people are so friendly and you are just so relaxed there, the beaches are very pretty. We went to Freeport, Grand Bahama Island 2 times.

Deb,

New Orleans, has history, gardens, jazz,
drinking, good dining & a cemetery tour to die for? Sweet tea & Long Island Tea!
Gambling too, so you can relive LV!

San Francisco, the bay, architecture, vineyards, drive along Big Sur(craggy gliffs into the ocean, dining and always has been voted 1 of the best!

Chicago-is it too close to home?

Miami-Art Deco, South Beach, Coconut Grove, the drive to Key West(Eat at Louie's Backyard). Catamaran off Stock Island, the Key right before KW, snorkle. Beaches aren't great in KW, the sunrise and sunsets are a delight.

Savannah is one of my favorite small towns. History, Architecture, good dining, River Street for drinking. It's a B&B type of town. Forrest Gump and Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil
filmed there. The Ghost tour is fun! Breakfast or Lunch at Clary's, Restaurant 1790(I think).

Consider a Cruise, they are a bargain!

Sylvia

The four of us ladies just came back from New Orleans and gotta tell ya' - we'd all go back in a New York minute! Harrah's casino, Court of Two Sisters, Emeril's, Rue Royal shopping, Bourbon shopping, trolley, Aquarium of the Americas, the old homes in the Garden District, Voodoo!, Ann Rice, the Cemetary, Museums, Antique shops!!! We had a blast and are already planning a revisit! But stay away from the French Market - tourist trap!

Thanks for all the great responses. I am going to share these with my friends so we can decide where the next trip will take us.
