Four 20somethings in L.A. for 24 hours
Hello. I will be traveling to L.A. from Puerto Rico the day before my friends (ages 21 and 22) and I head for Australia. We decided to stay overnight in L.A. so we can rest from the 7 hour long flight from PR. We have exactly one day in L.A. and were planning to either stay in West Hollywood or Santa Monica. What hotels are worth staying in these areas that might be under $250 a night?
I appreciate your help. Thanks.

It's been awhile since I lived in California, so I wouldn't trust my hotel recommendations, but given the amount of time you have, I'd pick Santa Monica. Do a search for Santa Monica hotel - there are some recent threads that will describe some interesting options depending on price and your own preferences.

Santa Monica is nice, and it's closer to the LAX than West Hollywood. I don't know the prices for these hotels, but do a search for "The Viceroy" and "Shutters" in Santa Monica. If you choose West Hollywood, try the Hyatt on Sunset, or the Best Western Sunset, they're on the strip and close to all the clubs. Hollywood is another good option, try the "Renaissance Hollywood", it's located in the Hollywood and Highland complex (hollywoodandhighland.com)
