Fort Lauderdale for the Day - Help needed
We will be in Fort Lauderdale for one day only, doing back to back cruises and thought we might take the water taxi to Las Olas Boulevard and spend the day there. We hope to see some of the fabulous properties, have a walk round the shops and maybe visit Bonnet House if it's close by. Does anyone know if this would be doable as we have to be back at the ship by 4.00ish. I'm not at all sure of distances, so maybe I'm being too adventurous, but maybe you could advise.

Would we easily get a taxi from Las Olas back to the cruise port? We should be docking by 8.00 and she sails again at 5.00, so I think we have plenty of time, but I notice that the water taxis only run every hour or so. Also, for 'cruising' Las Olas, would that be just staying on the water taxi and riding up and down. We quite enjoy walking, so is there a nice walk (if time permits) along Las Olas and is Bonnett House very far away (would we need a taxi or could we walk).

Any further info on this? Also, do we need to get a taxi from the ship to the water taxi stop or could we walk it? I've been studying the water taxi route that there seems to be one stop for Las Olas Riverfront and one for Las Olas Bouleavard - which one do we need - we'd like to do a little shopping but also see the riverfront homes - any info gratefully received.

Las Olas is great for walking. Friends and I did this when arriving a day early for a cruise. We also did the water taxi. And yes, there are some amazing properties along the route! Have fun.
Just catch a taxi at the cruise dock when you disembark. I don't recall what it cost, but the ride wasn't too long. We stayed along Las Olas and had no problem getting a taxi to the ship.
