Fort Lauderdale airport....pick up question

I do not live in Florida but have to pick up my elderly mother-in-law at FLL and have been told that the pick up, parking, and finding the right terminals is very difficult and confusing.

She is 94, not well and it will be late in the evening when she arrives on Southwest Airlines. Does anyone have any experience with this airport and could give me any pointers? Really appriciate any help I can get. Thanks

FLL isn't complicated at all. There are four terminals, with a garage in the middle. Southwest uses Terminal 1. Here's the website:

I can't imagine who would say finding the right terminal or parking is difficult or confusing. I think it is wonderfully easy and well marked. Perhaps those comments came from when there was major construction going on for the huge parking and rental car project -- but that's long finished.

Thanks EricH and NeoPatrick, I am very relieved to hear that it is easy. The person who told meit was a "nightmare" is not old and regularly takes and picks up people at FLL so I thought he must know what he was talking about.

They even have a car waiting area where if she has a cell phone she can call and you can come post haste. Otherwise there is parking across the roadway from the terminals. It is a compact and eay to negotiate the airport.

Another alternatuve. Almost all airlines will give a pass to go through security so you can meet her at the gate. If that is not possible all passengers are channeled through a set of escalators to the baggage claim.
