I am flying next week to fort lauderdale , what is there to see as far as nature or interesting places such as museums within one hour drive

Are you capable of googling instead of asking volunteers on this board to do the work for you?

We enjoyed taking an airboat tour of the Everglades. You can Google it and find many operators. I don't remember who we used, or if the drive was within an hour, but if it was more it wasn't by much.

On a simpler note, taking the water taxi gets you out on the water and lets you see things you might not otherwise.

Hugh Taylor Birch is convenient. It is certainly not as vast or varied as the Everglades but it can be peaceful.
