Fort Lauderdal inexpensive hotels

I'm still looking for advice on fairly inexpensive hotels with decent beach access(I've searched past postings). Anyone? How about travelodge?

Hleesa:

Go to Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, FL, website doing a search. Lots of nice motels that are either right across the street from the Atlantic or right on the Atlantic. Try coralkeyinn.com or blueseascourtyard.com. Coral Key is right across the street from direct ocean access. The above beachtown is 5 miles north of Ft. Lauderdale and is WAY less crowded.

Pompano Beach has lots of hotels with beach access that are reasonable.

I'd try Hotwire, as their amenity icons will tell you if the hotel is on the beach or offers beach access (these icons are differnt, so don't confuse them). You should be able to get a decent price on something that way (Priceline is usually a bit cheaper, but no guarantee of beach access).

Check out the website www.BetterBidding.com which is building a database for both Priceline and Hotwire hotels, as well as other travel deals.
