foliage in Adirondacks

I never hear if the trees in the Adirondacks are as pretty as the foliage in Vermont. Does anyone know? When does the foliage peak there?

If you are trying to compare the foliage in the Adirondacks to the foliage in Vermont then yes, the trees in the Adirondacks are as pretty as in Vermont. These two areas are separated only by Lake Champlain. The best time to be here or there is today.

Actually there are more sugar maples in Vermont than the Adirondacks (too cold in some parts of Adk) and they are the dominant tree in the fall landscape. Much of the Adirondack forest consists of aspen and conifers such as pines, cedar, hemlock. The birch turn a nice yellow, obviously the conifers stay the same. In the warmer parts of the Adirondacks you will find oaks, maples, beech.

But, obviously, it's all pretty in the fall!
